Privacy Policy

NOVESTA JAPAN STORE | Operated by KLEINSTEIN CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as the “Store”) complies with laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal information and handles customers’ personal information in accordance with the following policy.


1. Definition of Personal Information
Personal information means information concerning an individual, including a name, address, telephone number, email address, purchase history, or other information that identifies or may identify an individual. It also includes information that can identify an individual when combined with other information.

2. Collection of Personal Information
When simply browsing the Store, customers are not required to enter or disclose any information about themselves and may use the Store anonymously. When purchasing products, making inquiries, or submitting product reviews, customers may be asked to enter their name, address, telephone number, email address, or other information. When using the product review function, customers may also be asked to select and enter either their name or a handle name (nickname) as the review author. These public names may be displayed and made public on product pages within the Store and may also be displayed and made public on third-party services used by the Store, including review distribution services and social media integration features. The Store also uses cookies and similar technologies to collect the following information:

• Information such as the device type and operating system of the device used to access the Store
• Advertising identifier assigned to each device
• IP address information
• Information concerning the internet connection
• Location information, referrer information, viewed URLs, timestamps, and related information
• Information concerning use of the services

3. Purposes of Use of Personal Information
The Store uses personal information for the following purposes:

1) To confirm and respond to inquiries concerning orders.
2) To confirm and respond to inquiries concerning product shipments, including notifying shipping carriers of delivery destinations.
3) To respond to inquiries.
4) To register customers for mailing lists and provide information about campaigns, products, and services offered by the Store. When a customer uses the product review function, the Store may also publish the review content and the name or handle name entered when the review was submitted on product pages within the Store and on third-party services used by the Store, including review distribution services and social media integration features. This public information may be collected and displayed by search engines such as Google. Please understand that the Store may be unable to control its appearance in search results or arrange for its removal.
5) To use opinions, survey responses, usage history, and other information provided by customers.
6) To retain login information so that customers can log in more easily on their next visit. Cookies are used for this purpose, and customers may choose whether to permit such retention.
7) To respond to conduct that violates the Store’s terms, policies, and other rules (collectively, the “Terms”).
8) To improve the Store’s services and develop new services.
9) To create statistical data processed so that individuals cannot be identified and use such data to improve the services of the Store and its operating company.
10) For other purposes necessary to operate the website.



4. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
Except as provided in Section 3 above or in any of the following circumstances, the Store will not disclose or provide personal information to a third party without the customer’s consent:

1) When required by law.
2) When cooperation is necessary for a national or local government body, or a person entrusted by such a body, to perform duties prescribed by law.
3) When it is necessary to protect or defend the rights, property, or services of the Store or related parties against conduct that violates laws, the Store’s terms of use, or notices, and obtaining the customer’s consent is impracticable.
4) When personal data is exchanged with an affiliated company of the company that operates the Store.
5) When the Store is notified by a payment processor that a credit card payment or payment made through another payment account may involve fraudulent use.

 

5. Security Management of Personal Information
The Store restricts access to personal information to personnel who require it for business purposes and strictly manages content containing personal information. However, when necessary to provide products or services to customers, the Store may provide part of the personal information to an external contractor. In such cases, the Store will supervise the contractor to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately. Personal information that is no longer required will be deleted as appropriate.



6. Correction and Deletion of Personal Information
Please use the inquiry form to request correction or deletion of personal information provided to the Store. Registered users may also correct their personal information through “MY ACCOUNT” on this website.

The Store will respond appropriately in accordance with applicable laws regarding personal information under its management or control. However, although the Store may be able to hide or delete information that a customer has made public through a product review or similar feature within the Store, information already published, stored, or displayed by third-party services, including search engines, review distribution services, and social media platforms, is not under the Store’s control. The Store may therefore be unable to delete such information or control its appearance in search results. Please understand this before submitting public information.



7. Use of Cookies
The Store may use cookies to provide customers with better services. Cookies do not enable the Store to collect information that identifies an individual and do not infringe customers’ privacy. Customers who do not wish to accept cookies may change their browser settings. However, disabling cookies may prevent customers from using certain functions of the Store.

8. Use of SSL
When customers enter personal information, the Store uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology for security purposes to prevent the information from being intercepted, disrupted, or altered.

* SSL encrypts information to help prevent interception and data tampering during transmission. Using SSL makes it possible to transmit information more securely.

10. Disclosure of Customer Information in Cases of Fraudulent Use
Orders involving suspected fraudulent use of credit cards have occurred on this website. To provide greater assurance to our customers, if fraudulent credit card use is discovered, the Store will submit the IP address and other information collected at the time of the order to the police station with jurisdiction. The Store may also cancel an order to prevent fraudulent use if any of the following circumstances apply:

• The fraud detection system identifies the order as fraudulent
• Multiple credit card payment attempts have been made
• The delivery destination matches one previously used for a fraudulent order
• The telephone number matches one previously used for a fraudulent order
• The customer’s name and phonetic reading do not correspond, or the delivery address is incomplete, such as when a street number is omitted
• The customer cannot be contacted by telephone or email

* To prevent fraudulent use, the Store may ask the person placing the order to verify their identity by telephone, email, or another method. Fraud determinations are entrusted to a payment processor. Please understand that the Store cannot disclose the criteria used to make such determinations.

 

11. Changes to the Privacy Policy
The Store may change the personal information it collects, the purposes for which it is used, or other provisions of this Privacy Policy without prior notice. Unless otherwise specified by the Store, the revised Privacy Policy will take effect when posted on this website.
