THE ZELENÁ ŽABA GREEN FROG SWIMMING POOL
The Zelena Java Swimming Pool in Trencianske Teplice in the northwest of the Czech Republic is a functionalist style building built during the Czechoslovakian era. 2021SS was shot at this location. The history of this location dates back to the late 1930s. After World War I, the area was used as a recuperation center for wounded soldiers. During that time, it was decided to create a pool in the forest. The building, which stands on a hilltop in the spa town surrounded by mountains, is the work of architect Bohuslav Fuchs from Brno. The main pool was carved by hand into the rocks, and today the location is protected as a cultural institution due to this unique structure. The original idea was to deliberately install it on a hill to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Although the main pool collapsed in 2000, reconstruction began in 2015, and it opened to the public in 2017, making it a resort in the Czech mountains.

After the First World War, the area had been used as a location for the recuperation of wounded soldiers and it was at that time that the decision was taken to build a swimming pool in the woods. The main pool was carved by hand into the rock, and today, because of its unique technical construction, the Green Frog is a protected and listed monument. The original idea was for people to use the pool as a respite from the city, and the pool was deliberately located on a hill to ensure maximum sunshine.
